Fishing for a great ride is easy with Trek's Marlin. Its super-light aluminum frame features the ideal geometry to deliver superior cornering, climbing, and descending. A set of go-fast knobbies keep you glued to the trail, and a 75mm-travel fork smooths the bumps, steering you through the roughest terrain. Plus, component highlights include a 21-speed Shimano drivetrain, a host of reliable Bontrager parts, and mechanical disc brakes that give you stopping power in all conditions.

Smooth Riding

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Bought the bike pre Hurricane Harvey and rode it everywhere after the flood. I love the way it handles, easy shifting gears, rides smooth even through knee high water, muddy trails and water logged grass. Light enough to lift over a highway median or a fallen tree.

I would try a more bikes before deciding

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I haven't ridden in a while and have gained a lot of weight, so I didn't feel my 26" trek fuel 80 would hold up........I'm not convinced 29" bikes are the way to go....I'm 5'6"" the handling sucks and peddling is a pain........just to be sure I replaced my rear shock on my 26"" to lock out shock it doesn't bottom out due to my weight and the peddling effort seems natural. Plus it is more responsive in the twisteys
